劇情簡介/相關花絮：
哈里遜福特與蜜雪兒菲佛是一對人人欽羨的夫妻，然而他們簡單又幸福的生活，卻在一連串的神祕事件中逐漸瓦解……
蜜雪兒菲佛的新鄰居非常的奇怪，他們經常大吵大鬧，在一次爭吵中老婆竟離奇失蹤，剩一只被蜜雪兒菲佛撿到的女鞋，且蜜雪兒菲佛發現風雨夜中鄰居老公竟將包著東西的地毯塞到車中……種種怪事引發蜜雪兒菲佛的高度關切，可是哈里遜福特卻表示她想得太多，於是她決定自己去調查……
就在這同一時間，蜜雪兒菲佛發現自己家中的門常會無故打開，而且她一直覺得家裡有個年輕的女子在看著她，屋裡也常有奇怪的聲響和影像，她在洗澡時更常時看到年輕女子的影子……但她自己的老公卻感受不到，只說她神經過敏，要她去看心理醫生。
有天，蜜雪兒菲佛發現事有蹊蹺，她老公與那位年輕女子似乎偷過情。
她開始尋找證據，證明自己並非神經質而是真有其事，這時她才發現，那位年輕女子早已列入失蹤人口了。
蜜雪兒菲佛覺得事情愈來愈詭異：鏡子裡浮現的字、家裡出現的鬼影……情況愈來愈失去控制，連他們夫婦倆生命都受到了極大的威脅，更別提他們岌岌可危的婚姻關係了……
